The School of Literature and Journalism was one of the earliest schools founded at Chongqing Normal University and it is also one of the most influential. The large staff combines their expertise to lend a number of strengths to the school. There are more than 70 teaching and administrative staff now in the institute, It including 20 professors, 35 associate professors, 2 and doctoral supervisors. There are two provincial key disciplines of literature and art famous at the provincial level. Another eight research institutes exist for the study of Chinese classic literature, journalism, Secretarial studies, and Chinese for foreigners for full day bachelors degree studies. And Chinese classic literature and art , Chinese Contemporary and Current Literature, comparative literature , literature of the world , Which lead to five possible Master Degrees. The full-time undergraduate school contains more than 1200 students, 120 graduate students. This school has many academic credentials, multi-level systems and has trained large quantities of qualified teachers and other specialized personnel for the whole society.
