The Media College of Movie & TV promotes education of photography with television production and is the first to do so in Western China. The school trains in photography, video recording, and television production. Currently this school has two courses of study. One is a bachelor's degree and the other is a professional degree. The professional degree has two specialties. One is advertisement, and the other is in television production. This college has a wonderful equipment and faculty. There are currently 28 employs, of which 30 % are professors and associate professors, and 40% are masters and doctoral holders. This college has studios, a darkroom, an audio-visual laboratory, editing rooms, a multimedia classroom, a computer room, a TV broadcasting room, and this has contributed to the student's learning. This college has published has published a very professional magazine. It is the first art magazine for the university students, called “image.” And many DV works have been written, directed, and acted by the students and then made a good influence on the citizens. At the end of 2003 this department independently produced the first student made film since the foundation of China. It is called “the Singer” and has gained a lot of praise from society. This college has provided a lot of professionals for many TV stations, Newspapers, government enterprises, and the military.
