The Academy of Fine Arts has been through a process of construction and development lasting more than ten years. It has a strong dedication, high-leved and the effective teaching body. There are currently more than 40 part-time teachers, including 7 professors, 5 associate professors, and 21 lecturers. Of the teachers, 1 holds a doctoral degree and 8 hold masters degrees. This Institute highly emphasizes teaching and scientific research. Teaching research has held remarkable results in recent years, with 1 person obtaining a National Gold Medal from the Ministry of Culture and 11 people obtaining the national “Star of China” award in design. One faculty member also obtained the teaching achievement second prize of Chongqing Municipality. The articles of the faculty appear in various national art exhibitions. This institute attaches great importance to fostering and training student's creative abilities and applying them to their lives. The students have garnered great achievements as 15 of them were selected to participate in "the First and Second Chongqing Water Color Exhibition of Paintings of Soaked Bean-Noodles." Furthermore 36 student works were selected for "the Design Competition of the Star of Tomorrow of the Western China," with 11 obtaining the silver medal, bronze medal and prize of excellence. In order to guarantee teaching quality, this institute has invested nearly 900,000 Yuan to purchase Television cameras, two-dimensional planar design equipment, and three-dimensional designing and advertising lighting models, etc. There are complete teaching books and reference materials available as well as a designated area for student practice.
